Former Kırıkhan Anatolian High School accepted 36 students in a single clasroom in Gazi High School’s building for the first time in 1989-1990 academic year. Following 1993-1994 academic year, it continued educating students on the third and fourth floors of Trade High School. In 1999, Atakaş Corporate Group’s Chairman Mr. Recep ATAKAŞ founded a school after his father and merged it with former Kırıkhan Anatolian High School. This new school was named Naim Atakaş Anatolian High School. The school still continues to educate children in 17 classrooms with 1 Principal, 1 Head Assistant Principal, 2 Assistant Principals, 29 Teachers, 1 Officer and 1 Attendant.
The school’s construction was started in December 2007 by our Chairman Mr. Recep Atakaş after his late brother Sefa Atakaş. Construction was completed in a year and the school accepted its first 144 students for 2008-2009 academic year. The school is still active with 480 students.
The school is located on 1600 m2 area and consists of 32 classrooms. School facility also includes two separate but same type workshop building constructions. Workshop buildings will have 450 m2 area and 2 floors. The land that the school and workshops are located on belongs to National Education and is 48.000 m2. The school also has a bunker, archive, activity room, heating plant, administrative personnel and teacher rooms, canteen, counseling, laboratory, Ataturk and Exhibition Area, map room, preparation room, and a library. During construction, all trees on the land were maintained and more trees were planted afterwards. Additional green areas, a basketball field, a football field, walking trails and vehicle trails, parking areas and perimeter illumination were constructed.
Kızılay (Red Crescent) Preschool was established as a part of Turkish Red Crescent’s “81 Preschools in 81 Cities” project in 2008. The preschool was aimed to educate 150 students in 3 classrooms in two shifts. The preschool has open and closed playground on the facility and bridges an important gap in the area.
Hacı Faide Atakaş Student Dormitory was built to ensure students can live in the area. The dormitory has 56 rooms; up to 4 students can live in each room and can house a total of 224 students.
Nihal Atakaş Mosque was planned as one of the largest houses of prayer in the area; the mosque is constructed on 7800 m2 land with 1350 m2 gross usable area. The mosque will have 1070 m2 net sitting area and 1535 m2 net prayer area. The mosque has 2 minarets, both of which are 48 meters long. Besides, the mosque has one big, ten small domes. 145 m2 chinaware (Çini) was used for its construction.
